Epinephrine autoinjectors are indicated for the emergency treatment of severe allergic reactions including life threatening anaphylactic reactions due to stinging insects, and food or drug allergens.  Having an emergency epinephrine autoinjector on hand is especially important for those that have a prior history of anaphylactic reactions.
